£328 Donation - Blackpool Trekkers Club

Blackpool trekkers have kindly donated all their funds to Bowland Pennine Mountain Rescue Team after they announced their rambling and walking club is closing. The donation to our rescue Team is a fantastic way to give to charity, this money will be spent on something tangible that we use during our operations, whether callouts or supporting the community when we support a local fell race.   Many thanks again to the Blackpool trekkers rambling club.

Many thanks to Hope Technology from Barnoldswick who have donated £5,000 to the rescue Team which will be used to replenish or renew some of our aging rope rescue equipment.  Hope Technology is one of the world leaders in engineering bicycle components. Since 1989, the owners have been pushing the industry forward through designing, testing and manufacturing virtually all products in-house at the factory in Barnoldswick, United Kingdom. GP Batteries - Thank you

A massive thank you to our partner GP Batteries who once again have donated a number of AAA and AA batteries. GP Batteries have supported Bowland Pennine MRT for many years. Last year GP Batteries donated a head torch for every team member and a number of assorted torches, which are used during searches and rescues during the hours of darkness.

New Year Honours - BEM Awarded to Team Member

Congratulations to Team member Kevin Hindle who has been awarded a BEM for services to Bowland Pennine MRT in this years New Year honours list. Kevin, a Team member for 4 years lives in the Cleveley area and is a father of two and attends callouts on a regular basis throughout the year along with other volunteer rescue Team members.

BPMRT Trainee Cohort 2018

Over the weekend of the 4th /5th / 6th October 2019 our five trainee Members (2018-20) were put through their paces over a 48-hour period. This was to assess whether they met the required standards to join the team as full team members. Garstang Fund Raiser

All charaties need to raise much needed finances to keep them going, we BPMRT are no different with fuel, insurance and supplies to buy throughout the year. Fund raising in our local area is always great and fun, we have our vehicle and training base in Garstang so although we are raising much needed money for the rescue Team, we can also say thank you to everyone we meet.

New Call Out Team Members

  This week we congratulate 5 new full call out Team members after completing their 18 month trainee training programme. After various assessments, not all mountain rescue themed, we congratulate the following;   Lyndsey Helvin Caroline Hindle Scott Nash Kurt Ingleson Rob Gibbs   They now form part of the 40 volunteers for Bowland Pennine Mountain Rescue Team who assist Lancashire Police, The North West Ambulance Service, Lancashire Fire & Rescue and the North West Air Ambulance Service where they will be carrying out searches, assisting lost walkers, mountain bikers and providing a valueable service within our community.

BPMRT Tim Cox receives Honorary Team Membership Certificate

On Tuesday 7th July, longstanding Bowland Pennine Mountain Rescue Team (BPMRT) member Tim Cox was presented with a Honorary Team Life Membership Award in recognition of his service to the team. Tim is stepping down from the Team Chairman role after 11 years in post. Tim has been a dedicated Mountain Rescue England and Wales member, with 16 years of service. During this time Tim has been a stalwart of Bowland Pennine Mountain Rescue Team, attending callouts, fund raising events including providing a 'Pop up' cafe facility during searches providing hot brews and biscuits for Team members.
