Bowland Pennine Mountain Rescue Team were proud to hold a presentation evening at Beacon Fell Country Park on the evening of Wednesday 17th July 2024.
Team members who qualified for the medal were presented with their medal by Pete Taylor, the first Team Leader of Bowland Pennine when the Team were formed back in 1980.
Overall, 47 Team members are to receive their medal which is a tremendous achievement, we congratulate them all.
The criteria for the medal is “
Frontline emergency personnel who have been in paid service, retained or in a voluntary capacity, dealing with emergencies as part of their conditions of service, and completed five full calendar years of service on 6 May 2023;
Did you know – The tradition of Coronation Medals dates to the reign of King James I when the first Medal was awarded in 1603. This Medal featured a bust of James I wearing the costume of a Roman Emperor. Its reverse included a crowned lion rampant holding a beacon and a wheat sheaf.
