Incident 033/2024
The North West Ambulance Service requested the rescue Team to assist with a female who had tripped in a local field walking her dog which caused an injury to her right ankle.
The 40-year-old female casualty, had been walking in the open area along with her friends when the incident happened. A private ambulance working alongside the Ambulance Service attended and carried out medical treatment, once that was completed, along with our Team members we carried our patient using our mountain rescue Bell stretcher the 500 metres across the fields to the land ambulance, where she was then successfully transferred.
19 volunteers of Bowland Pennine Mountain Rescue were involved during this incident in the late afternoon of 26th August 2024 (Bank Holiday Monday), the incident took just under 3 hours to complete.
We wish our casualty a very speedy recovery and we hope she is back out walking very soon.
