Incident 012/2025
The rescue Team were called on the afternoon of the Sunday 16th March to assist with a 31-year-old female who had fallen from her Electric mountain bike at speed, causing her potential serious injuries.
On scene were 2 ambulance crews attending and carrying out medical assessments when we arrived. Concern was given for fractured ribs so she was packaged up in our mountain rescue casualty bag and placed onto our mountain rescue stretcher and then carried the 800 metres across country to the road where the ambulances were located.
19 volunteers of Bowland Pennine mountain rescue team were involved in this rescue which took around 3 hours to complete, this being our second callout of the day.
Post incident, it has ben confirmed that broken ribs were the injuries, and we wish the young lady a speedy recovery.
