Request for potential assistance by the Cave Rescue Organisation (CRO) to our rescue Team for the for the extraction of a body in the Roeburndale area. A Polaris vehicle and trailer with people on board had fallen into a river when the bridge they were crossing collapsed. The request was for Bowland Pennine to be on standby if the body recovery was going to longer than expected. Our rescue Team had 26 Team members available over night, however, the CRO completed the task in a swift and timely manner so we stood down.
Our thoughts go with the family and friends of the deceased and we hope those who injured in the accident recovery quickly.
