Incident 040/2024
The 2nd and final reportable incident during our annual fell race cover for the 3 Peaks Cyclo Cross in Yorkshire on the 29th September 2024.
A rider presented himself to our rescue Team at the Ribblehead Viaduct again with a potential head and cheek injury.
The rider reported that he had fallen from his bike on the decent from Whernside.
Once again, Team members assessed the situation, with a potential head injury due to mechanism of injury with falling there was a slight grazing to his right cheek. Team members cleaned the wound, dressed it with zinc oxide pad which was secured.
The rider felt comfortable and decided to continue with the race, with our Team members advising the rider to seek further medical assistance if needed.
