On 24th September 2024 at 20.20 hrs, the rescue Team were contacted by Lancashire Police to assist with an ongoing search for a high risk 73-year-old male who had been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease.
The missing person had been missing since 11.00 hrs earlier in the day, but was reported as absent around 18.30 hrs.
A joint agency search commenced throughout the evening, but good news was received just after midnight that he was located safe and well outside of the search area.
21 volunteers of Bowland Pennine Mountain Rescue were involved in this multi-agency search, which also included a HMGC helicopter and local Police.
