Incident 007/2025
On Monday 17th February our rescue Team were requested by our neighbours Bolton Mountain Rescue to assist with a search for a missing 80 year-old vulnerable female in the Shevington area.
The missing female had been missing since the Sunday and initial searches involved the Police helicopter and mountain rescue teams.
As the first BPMRT members arrived news was received that the missing person (now casualty) had been located, alive but cold and suffering from Hypothermia.
Mountain rescuers then stretchered the casualty to a nearby road and was transferred over to the local ambulance crew who then transported her by Ambulance into Wigan hospital.
8 Bowland Pennine Mountain Rescue Team volunteers attended this incident which took almost 3 hours to complete.
