The rescue team were requested by Lancashire Police to assist with an urgent search for a missing female aged 45 with potential to be in the river at St Michael’s on Wyre.
The rescue Team, along with other agencies compiled a plan to execute a search with the mountain rescue volunteers to search the local area including the river banks.
The missing person, Nicola Bulley aged 45 went missing around 09.15 hrs on Friday 27th January 2023.
Agencies involved included 25 volunteers of Bowland Pennine Mountain Rescue Team, LFRS, LFRS search dog, LFRS drone, NWAS, Police, NPAS helicopter, Police Underwater Dive team.
The MISPER (Nicky) remained outstanding at the end of MRT search.
*Post incident – Sadly Nicola was found deceased some time after this search, our heartful condolences and sympathy goes to the family and friends during this very sad time.
