The Team were requested by Lancashire Police to assist with a male reported as stuck in snow in the Tarnbrook area at 3.50 hrs on Saturday 11th January 2025. With fading light, the rescue Team deployed into the area, the location of the person stuck in snow was unknown, but it was possibly on the “White Side of Tarnbrook Fell”
Team called out, deployed and RVd at Tarnbrook.
The Team received a screen shot from the Police from the Casualty of their last position which gave an indication of where the location was.
The first Team members at Tarnbrook started to move towards the possible Casualty location, this was assisted by a kind farmer and his quad-bike.
Abbeystead Estate workers were also assisting with their drone but was restricted by height.
However, all ended well when the casualty was located when he walked into our Forward Control point at Tarnbrook.
The casualty checked over by the Team and was okay and he was then transported to his own vehicle, safe and sound.
15 volunteers of Bowland Pennine Mountain Rescue Team, Abbeystead estate workers and the local farmer all attended this incident, which took just under 3 hours to complete.
We wish our casualty all the very best and hope he will be out and about soon.
