Incident 055/2021

On Tuesday afternoon on the 28th September 2021 at approximately 1.25pm, we received an alert from the North West Ambulance Service for assistance for a male mountain biker who had fallen badly and had hit a tree on the hope line in Gisburn Forest. This was our 3rd incident in the forest within 2 weeks but we quickly responded as quick as we could. With our own team member availability being low today, we requested our colleagues and friends from the Cave Rescue Organisation who supported us today with 2 vehicles and 8 team members. Once we were on scene, we quickly determined the injuries as potential arm and collar bone. With the assistance of the Cave Rescue Organisation, we treated and then evacuated the male casualty to a waiting land ambulance and was then taken into Preston Royal Infirmary for further assessment and treatment.

We thank our colleagues from the Cave Rescue Organisation for assisting us today and we wish the casualty a speedy recovery.
