Incident 050/2024
On Sunday 1st December 2024 the North West Ambulance Service requested the rescue Team to attend a mountain biker who had fallen on the Leap of Faith route in Gisburn Forest.
Along with Paramedics from the Air Ambulance the casualty was assessed and it was determined he had a fractured upper leg injury which required further medical intervention at the trauma unit in Preston Royal Infirmary.
The male casualty was made comfortable and then moved on the mountain rescue Bell stretcher to the Air Ambulance.
15 Team members of Bowland Pennine Mountain Rescue Team were involved in this rescue which took just over 3 hours to complete.
