On Friday afternoon at 14.48hrs, 19th July 2024 the rescue Team were requested by the North West Ambulance Service to assist with a 76-year-old female who was feeling ill and was unable to move.
As she was in the remote area of Grindleton Fell, our rescue Team attended and assisted the Paramedic on scene which was in Pinewood, a wooded area frequented by walkers.
Team members on scene, along with a Mountain Rescue 4×4 vehicle safely transported our patient to an area where an Ambulance was located and she was duly transferred where treatment then continued.
On standing down, this incident involved 13 volunteers of Bowland Pennine Mountain Rescue and took approximately 3 hours to complete.
We wish our patient a very speedy recovery and we hope she is out walking with her friends very soon.
